Product Information
Spider Screw Zigomatica Orthodontic TAD (Ø2.0 mm)
Specialized Anchorage for the Infrazygomatic Crest & Buccal Shelf
When standard TAD placement sites are insufficient for your most demanding biomechanical needs, the Spider Screw Zigomatica provides the specialized solution. Engineered specifically for placement in the infrazygomatic crest and buccal shelf, this Ø2.0 mm conical thread mini-implant offers exceptional primary stability in cortical bone-rich anatomical zones, unlocking powerful anchorage options for complex orthodontic movements including posterior arch expansion, molar distalization, and skeletal anchorage protocols.
Every design detail of the Spider Screw Zigomatica has been optimized for its unique placement sites. The rounded, slot-free head eliminates sharp edges that could irritate or traumatize adjacent soft tissues, while the reduced groove between the head and the transmucosal portion is specifically engineered to facilitate the direct engagement of elastic chains — streamlining force application and reducing the need for auxiliary attachments.
Key Features & Benefits
- Ø2.0 mm Conical Self-Tapping Thread: Delivers superior primary stability in the dense cortical bone of the infrazygomatic crest and buccal shelf.
- Available Lengths: 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm to accommodate varying anatomical depths and clinical requirements.
- Two Transmucosal Heights: 2 mm for standard soft tissue profiles; 5 mm for deeper mucosal tissue, ensuring the head remains accessible and hygienic throughout treatment.
- Rounded, Slot-Free Head Design: Protects adjacent soft tissues from irritation and trauma during the full course of orthodontic treatment.
- Elastic Chain-Ready Groove: The reduced groove between the head and transmucosal portion is purpose-designed for seamless elastic chain engagement, simplifying force delivery.
-
Site-Specific Engineering: Optimized for the infrazygomatic crest and buccal shelf — anatomical sites that offer dense cortical bone and ideal anchorage for posterior and skeletal mechanics.
Placement Protocol
Due to the increased length and the dense cortical bone characteristic of its target placement sites, pre-drilling with a Ø1.3 mm drill is recommended prior to insertion. This ensures controlled, precise placement and protects the integrity of the surrounding bone and soft tissue structures.
Designed for where standard TADs can't go.
The Spider Screw Zigomatica expands your clinical toolkit beyond conventional interradicular placement, giving you reliable skeletal anchorage in the posterior maxilla without the complexity of orthopedic appliances. Its tissue-friendly design and elastic chain-ready groove make it as practical in daily use as it is powerful in biomechanical application.
